Rory's Mom Buys Him Off-Brand Green Jacket That's "Just As Good"

As Rory McIlroy was seeking his first-ever green jacket at this year’s Masters Tournament, his mother went ahead and bought him an off-brand one that she believes is “just as good.”

“He kept saying he wanted a green jacket! This is a green jacket!” explained Mrs. McIlroy.

Despite Rory clearly wanting a green jacket specifically from the Masters, his mother figured she might as well buy one on sale from Carl’s Jacket Warehouse.

“This one is so much warmer,” Mrs. McIlroy continued, still mystified. “The one he wanted is impossible to get. Win a golf tournament over four days? Who has that kind of time?”

Fearing he’d be mocked by his fellow golfers, Rory refused to wear the jacket. The dispute has yet to be resolved.

“The only real difference is the fancy name,” Mrs. McIlory concluded. “Ooh, the Masters, la-dee-da. Give me a break.”
